Additional Information

Choose the 7/8″ diameter or the 1-1/4″ for your tapestry rods.

Tapestry rods that require a center support mount may be split and shipped in multiple pieces. Rest assured, we can easily guarantee that any of our joined curtain rods will be as strong and functional as a single-piece rod. When our rods are split for shipping, they and joined together internally with a center connector so there is never a bump for your curtains to hang up on.

7/8″ rods over 72″ and 1-1/4″ rods over 93″ long will require center support mounts.

Order changes on custom tapestry rods can be made within 24 hours of placing the order. Since all curtain rods are custom cut to your measurements, we can not make changes after the 24 hours.

How to measure for Tapestry Rods

Measure the tapestry width, and add enough on each side so that mount can be place on the outer edges of the tapestry. This measurement is the rod length. Now make sure you have room beyond that measurement for the decorative rod finials you like, and you are ready to order your rods.

Our antique black finish is a very deep flat black reminiscent of the hand applied carbon and wax finishes used by yesterday’s blacksmiths.

Our hand applied iron oxide patina finish is the most versatile finish we produce. It is the correct choice for rustic and Tuscan decor and blends perfectly with your oil rubbed bronze, rusty brown, or black iron decor.

Our hand applied burnished silver patina finish has rich nickel silver highlights with antique black iron undertones and blends well with stainless or nickel accessories and decor.

Our hand applied antique gold patina finish has rich deep gold highlights with antique black iron undertones reminiscent of Spanish and Italian treasure.

Tapestry Rod ship within 3-4 weeks via UPS.

The maximum length we can ship tapestry rods in one piece is 93″ however, we will generally split curtain rods at the mounting points if over 80″. We have developed a system that is invisible, strong, easy to assemble, and will allow you to build a high quality curtain rod without concern of sagging or poor performance.

Disclaimer:
Hardware should always be installed by a competent professional with a good understanding of interior wall types and mounting fasteners. Please do not attempt to install any hardware unless you know how to safely operate the necessary tools, and have a good understanding of what you are doing. The following instructions are basic guidelines for qualified installers, and should be read through completely before starting your job.

#8-2” wood screws are provided with all our mounting hardware. These typically work perfect if you are mounting the brackets into a stud. If anchors are required or a different screw (depending on the substrate) the customer is responsible for sourcing the additional hardware.

How to install / hang a tapestry rod:

To avoid marking up the wall, tape some paper up on the wall where the curtain rod mounts will go, You can pull these protective paper sheets out just before you tighten down the mount screws.

Step 1: Hold one curtain rod mount up and using a pencil, mark the location of the bottom screw hole on the paper and set the curtain rod mount down. Pre-drill a hole into the wall just deep enough to make it easy to drive the screw straight into the wall.

Step 2 : Holding the tapestry rod mount in one hand at a slight angle so you can easily drive the screw in without interference from the arm of the mount, drive the bottom screw into the wall. Level the tapestry rod mount as it begins to snug up against the wall, then drive in the top screw.

Step 3: Put the finials on the rod and place one end of the rod in the mount you just installed. Lay the level on top of the rod while holding the rod and the mount together. Raise them up so that the tapestry rod is level. When the rod is level, repeat step 1 with the next mount.

Step 4: Remove one finial, slide the rings onto the tapestry rod, drop the rod into the mounting brackets, and hook your tapestry onto the rings.

How to install wrought iron finials:

Slide the finial into the end of the rod (you might need to tap it in with a wooden block). Drive self drilling set screw through the pilot hole on the underside of the curtain rod and into the finial.

Basic tools include:

Safety glasses, ladder, laser level, measuring tape, pencil, battery powered screw gun or drill/driver with 4″ to 6″ screw holder extension tip (do not overlook the importance of this item, it is required installation equipment), hammer, 1/8 drill bit.
